Sadly, I didn't recieve an award. However, our school kicked ass. I was placed in Novice Crisis Simulation, and was given the position of Examination Yuan of Taiwan. It started with the SARS case, and China denying Taiwan entry into the WHO, and threatening military action if we tried to circumvene them. The WHO inspectors were let into Taiwan, and China, although they demanded the condition they were supervised at all times. Then SARS spread to California, and Gray Davis (The Governor) got infected and died Quite a sadistic streak on the part of our chairs.
Anyways, the US officially declared neutrality, but sent Carriers to the Philippines under the guise of working terrorism, while they were actually there incase something developed. Then responding to that, China mobilized, and created a "buffer zone" around Taiwan. Unfortunately, their communication wasn't very clear, and we thought they meant a blockade. In response, we declared independence, and China fired 3 warning missiles at Taiwan. The US then responded then holding a summet, then firing 2000 ICBMs at China while they were meeting.
I had the military decree to go to DefCon4 and to assassinate the enemy cabinet and fire nukes at their large cities ready, except the US beat us to it. It really was quite fun.
Heh, all you older people read and weep, because we'll be the ones running the country when we're older.
