This is a Hail to Mike Wong Thread I'm putting here Giving Kudos to him. Making the web safe from the scum of the Universe (namely Rabid Trekkie fanboys)

Oh well I'll start my Ball bronzing by saying that the first time I saw a Star Wars Vs Star Trek site back in '96(as a 14 year old), It was a Trekkie-fanboy-masturbatory wet dream. Tons of unsupported claims about Phasers and Lasers, or how SW ship don't have shields . I think most of you remember those days esp. you Mike. Wayne Poe had his site up then and combated those rabid trekkie fanboys. But he was in the minority then (hell I should give thanks to Wayne Too). Now when MW site first appeared I gave it a pretty good read over and was thankful for someone seeing SW as I saw it, and ST for what it was. (a good thing ruined by two hack writers)

Well here's a thanks to ya for putting up an overall great site here, and putting those Trekkie fanboys in their place. I realize the we see eye to eye more often than not.

Get rid of that inept fool GW Bush and Make MW Ruler of North America!!

When I first discovered the community of SWvsST I was 15 (about 1.5-2 years ago) at first I thought, Wars probly could win, 15 minutes later I knew Wars would win.

I suggest any posts by Shep be deleted on this thread

A friend gave me a link to Wayne Poe's Ultimate Star Wars versus Star Trek site about two or three years ago I believe. I was reading his hate mail page and saw where this Mike Wong took over to flame down some ignorant ass. There I found a link to Star Destroyer.net. I also followed Wong's link to spacebattles.com and found that it's useless to talk sense to those knee slapping hippies. Great site Wong!!! Keep up the good work!!!

I found the glory of Wong through Tony Case's "I Hate Star Trek" website. Someone kept posting excerpts from SD.net to the guestbook, and I just followed my nose

A little while after that I emailed Mike and asked him about accessing the newsgroups. You remember that, Mike?

I found this site about a year ago, after finding some sites on an interesting debate I never knew had existed before...Star Wars vs. Star Trek. I think I had done a Google search for stradestroyer because I was looking for a pic and this site comes up...I click on it and started reading. I was floored by the technical expertise and the way it was laid out. It was simple and clear and there was little doubt that Trek was a lost cause militarily, not that I ever really cared but it was very interesting.

Then I read his fanfic and I said, "I've had some ideas floating around for years, MAYBE I can write something LIKE this." Thus Star Crossed was born thanks to Lord Wong's own genius.

I found this site about two and a half years ago. I was trying to find a site that analyzed the relative technology levels of the two universes because I was running a crossover RPG (having just finished a police action with RoboCop and Buzz Lightyear), and I was astounded at the way everything on his site was done. Even though the topic was not remotely serious, Mike ran SD.net with professionalism that was unusual for even corporate sites. EVERYTHING was well done, right down to the Hate Mail and Debate sections of the site.

I found this site linked on a reply to a fanfiction on Fanfiction.net/

The fic had some STvsSW elements, and the reviewer gave Wong's site as good reference. I've been lookin at it ever since.

Intelegent, even Scientific, discussion on the internet, who would have thought...

As for everybody else, your praise is (believe it or not) much appreciated. I'm a thick-skinned guy and the endless personal attacks of Trekkie fanatics don't really bother me, but praise is still nice to hear.
