On the one hand, it can catch drugs.
On the other, it does show a distinct lack of trust. Hopefully it doesn't get too abused by parents without cause.

Stupid idea. Now I'll wait for someone to make a comment about Congress and Bush spending billions to engineer an terrorist atheist traitor-sniffing dog.

I'm wondering where they get these so-called sniffer dogs from. There are less than 10 trained drug sniffing dogs in Canada and half of them work at Pearson International Airport in Toronto, with a couple more being used by the Customs guys in the Toronto area and the rest being shuttled back & forth across the country.

The US government has some pretty large training programs and I'd expect there are many private ones as well. Shouldn't be to hard to buy one.
Less then TEN in the whole country? The city of Philadelphia has more drug dogs then that. Hell there are more privately owned Tigers in New York city then that.

Sounds like an excellent idea to me; better to have parents voluntarily allowing dogs to enter their houses and find drugs rather than DEA agents doing so arbitrarily.

Good chance it's a retired military dog.
