Clone armor for gnomes. That'll be interesting to see.
So they cloned feti. Cool. I just hope they can work out the kinks for adults.

So should we start taking bets on its medical problumes?

Cloning tech today is inherently flawed due to the simple inability to rectify the age difference between the clone and the mother or donor.
Until we can reverse the aging process or produce a better cloning procedure, we will continue to produce defective organisms that will die young through genetic abnormalities.

Couldn't we just take cell samples from the animal-to-be-cloned whern it's born, then clone that later?

You can only preserve cells for so long before they deteriorate. That's a major problem with blood banks, although to be honest red blood cells don't have nucleii.

Not sure about that, but I know they do deteriorate after a while. They certainly won't last long for you to up and decide one day, "Hey, I want to clone myself."
