The local news weatherman came to see my school when I was in the 3rd grade. He told how his cat always ran under their bed whenever lightning struck. Then, during the first thunderstorm after they got a water bed...

Ain't cats great? You can use'em to test how expensive your carpet is by tying a piece of bread with peanut butter on it on its back, then drop it, if the carpet is cheap it will land feet first, if the carpet is expensive, it will land peanut butter side down. *always*

Whoever said cats always land on their feet was smoking something, or at least never met my cats... We have one which always lands on his ass with a nice thud, another that lands headfirst, one that lands on her side, and another that lands any way is down.

Remember to check your engine compartment for cats on cold days if you have run it recently, otherwise you may get a nasty gooey surprise...

Yep, I love cats, I've got 7 of the little beasties as a result, and each of them is different, just like people, smart (most), annoying, know how to push your buttons, and they definately let you know when they like you, or you pissed them off.

Since you have cats you should now that the most dangerous factor -if a cat falls- is LOW height.

If the height is enough for the cat to spin it's body then it has a bigger chance to survive the accident.

For an example I have two cats. Both of them had already fell down from the 5th floor (approx. 13m). One of them broke two of it's eye-tooth because it's jaw was hit by the ground. The other one didn't have any injury.

Now when one of them fell down from a tree -while chasing a squirrel- it broke two ribs because the height was to low to make a complete spin.

My cats are ... a mixture:

One is senile and thinks it ives in every house in the town.
Two are stupid plain and simple. They regulary walk/run into the patio door.
The last one, though sane, is a hypochondriac. It can pick up the slightest nick or scratch and it'll be limping. The funny thing is when you put the food bowl down it will automatically ruin to it, and then half way will remember it's supposed to be limping.

One time i accidently stood on it's tail and it started limping

. It gt it's own back when i was playing Silent Hill 2 in the dark and thought i had cleared all the cats out of the room. Needless to say it scared the shit out of me when i got the creepy part and something landed on my lap!
