Bad news

As some of you may know, a month or so ago, I had a seizure and spent some time in hospital, had some CAT scans, etc. I also suffer from myoclonic jerks.
On Monday I had an EEG scan, and this morning we got the results back, I apperantly have a sort of semi epilepsy, with another seizure a certainty, and now I have to be put on medication to cure the jerking.

To cap it off, I may not be able to pursue a career as a pilot now.

BTW: POST 2K!

That's sad dude!

But at least it's not mortal!

I hope you'll be cured ASAP.

Ps: Congrats for your 2K post amount!

That's horrible, Gandalf. Sorry to hear it.
You're a smart cookie though, any number of options should be open to you.

Sorry to hear that man. My cousin is similarly afflicted (she calls herself a spaz). Hope things work out...

Gandalf, sorry to hear that. I know what its like to have some "physical" condition prevent a possible career choice. Its a painful feeling.

That's a heartbreaker, man. Best of luck, and as long as you keep faith in yourself things will turn out for the best.

That sucks, dude. But for what it's worth, a friend of mine has a similar condition. Her case is so severe that she isn't supposed to even drive a car without her meds, and her meds are so strong that she has to take other meds to counteract the side effects.

Nonetheless, she runs her own catering business, and is so sucessful that she has bought a house on her own and is able to take trips two or three times a year. (Not to mention that she throws the best parties)

You're young and smart - you shall prevail.

Firstly, thanks everyone very much for your support. I saw more doctors today, I'm now on medication, 2 pills a day until further notice. And blood tests every 6 months starting in 2 weeks.

Piloting is now out completely.
