Yes, after much deliberation I let Gandalf convince me to join, I’ve been a silent spectator for a while though

I couldn’t think of what to post first, so I asked him if telling you about how I recently took all the keys off my keyboard,
washed them individually with warm water and a cotton bud and replacing them in true alphabetical order would make a nice ice breaker.

He assured me that yes…yes it would.

Really? That must make typing difficult whenever you don't use your keyboard.

Does it work well? I've always been curious as to how well that would work.

Well at the moment the keys work as they always did, in the same place that they always were, but moving the ‘keys’ just means that when I press “A” I get “Q” “B” I get “W” and so forth. I think I can reassign my keys but as yet haven’t had the time or inclination.

The keyboard was actually designed to slow typists down, as on typewriters they were getting too fast and the keys were jamming. Thus the most used keys are actually the hardest to reach!

One of my main ambitions in life is to change to the DVORAK system, which will be infinitely faster. Only problem is, I’d have to relearn my touch typing and that would just be a bother. When I have time, it will happen!
