Watched a subtitled version of Taxi 2, really enjoyed it, such was the level of enjoyment that the subtitles soon became irrelevant and having to read the words on subtitles was barely noticeable by the end of the film.

I remember seeing a funny one that was remade here. I forget the name of it but it involved two men both looking for what they thought was their daughter.

Actually, I'm not entirely sure...

And it wasn't Just Visiting.

I could've seen Taxi 2 at the uni cinema but forgot.

I still haven't seen the original but I hear it's great though Hollywood has remade or is remaking it.

The movie you're thinking of is Les Comperes, which was remade by Ivan Reitman (director of Ghostbusters, Evolution) as Father's Day, starring Robin Williams and Billy Crystal.

Here we go! Thanks to a tip from my brother (he remembered the remake had Robin Williams and Billy Crystal) I found out that the original did star Gerard Depardieu. It was called Les Compères, produced in 1983. The remake was called Father's Day and was made in 1997.

I've watched a fair amount of New Wave films. Some are good, some are bad. It mostly depends on the subject matter, really.

I quite enjoyed Cleo From 5 to 7, A Woman is a Woman, and especially Pierrot le fou.

Oh yeah, and about French movies, Truffaut's stuff is cool; I just watched Day for Night recently and liked it a lot. Amelie is fucking awesome, and I like Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources a lot. Depardieu's version of Cyrano de Bergerac was cool too.

In my high school French class, we watched La Boum every year. It sucks, but it kinda grew on me after four years. My French teacher also showed us Les Parapluies de Cherbourg, which was pretty good. She showed Le Roi de Coeur, but I was absent for the first part. The parts I saw were awesome, though.

And for an American movie about making a French movie, CQ is hella badass. Gotta love Jeremy Davies.

the only French film that I've seen in which i can remember the title was Emmanuel...although TV Asie on cable shows a lot of French movies. On another note, how about Run, Lola, Run? I know it's German but did anybody see it already?
