Yeah there is a book...and honestly it not as good.

Personally at times it ruined the "effect" that narrator and Tylor were.

I think Chuck Pahalniuk (the author of the book) watched the movie and said that it did a lot of things better than he did.

I think I recall reading that from his interview in the leaflet to the special edition DVD I have.

I've never seen an author so enthused about the movie adaptation of his work. I read another interview with him in UGA's paper and he raved on and on about how much he loved the movie.

Yes Fight Club does belong in the group of movie gods like the Star Wars OT Robocop 1 & maybe 2 Terminator 1 & 2 and all the even trek films before 1990 :)

I watched Fight Club, and it was pretty good, but I've never understood this massive following that it's had among the more philosophy-oriented types. I mean, when you get right down to it, it's just a lot of existentialist socialism with a bad case of The Usual Suspects Syndrome.

If you've only seen half of the movie, then you're still missing out on alot... and you just wont understand the hype around the movie.

Fight Club owns. Edward Norton owns. Never will there be a movie quite as mind-bogglingly awesome as Fight Club.
