I speak English quite fluently, and southern English (Hey, it might as well be a second language... ). I know rudimentary German and Spanish, as well.

Speak? Well, southern English, of course , the Queen's English on occasion, a bit of French, Spanish, German, and Japanese.

Fluent in English only. Know a little Japanese, less Portuguese.

EDIT: Pero, no español. Nada.

I speak English well, Spanish reasonably well (although I've yet to test it in a Spanish-speaking country), and my French is passable. I pronouce things really well (I guess partly because I have a musical ear, which helps that sort of thing?), which sort of leads people to believe that my French (especially French) is better than it is, but those holidays spent in Mont Tremblant in Quebec have paid off a bit in practice!

I also know snippets of German, Hebrew and Italian, and I'm planning on learning some basic Icelandic because I will get there on holiday eventually!

I think that's it.

To clarify about my English, I understand Aussie-English perfectly, but can't speak it as well as I used to be able to. I'm sure a couple months back there would help this issue. And of course I speak Americanized English well, with a hint of a Southern accent.

I know some Korean, and Japanese...with a smattering of French, German, and Spanish.

nuh-uh... you have a Maryland accent which is so far away from Southern... think Southern with a Yankee flair and that's a Maryland accent.

funny story, whenever we get new machine operators at work, they all think they can say whatever they want around me and get away with it. let me tell you i have lost coun't how many startled Guatemalan's havce utttered the phrase " Ay dios! El putan gringo sabe mucho espanol!"

I speak four languages.

Finnish / English / Swedish / German
Minä puhun suomea / I speak English / Jag talar svenska / Ich spreche Deutsch.

I also had French for two years in early high-school, but I've forgotten most of it. To be frank, I only remember one full phrase of French (this was in our text book!), though I'm not sure of the spelling:

Je cherche un bureau de tobacco. - I'm looking for a tobacco shop.

Too bad I'm not even a smoker, unless you count those few dozen cigars I smoke per year.

Since you others are counting your local dialects as spoken languages, perhaps I should as well. Spoken Finnish (at least here in northern Helsinki metropolitan area) differs a lot from the official language.

I know Wnglish (obviously) and I speak Spanish fairly well. I can understand (theoretically) Portuguese and Italian given that, and I can understand some French, and less German. I also know a bit of Russian (though all in present tense, and I am getting caught up on it again, anyhow).

I speak English, the basics of Spanish and the language of our ancient alien comrades, which just happens to be English.
