[rant] I really hate the people in my drivers ed car. The class itself is boring as hell, and I cant stand the two people in the car I'm assigned too. I haven't bothered to learn their names. I just call them the Mute, and the Retard. The Mute never talks, so I dont really have a problem with him, other than its annoying. The Retard never shuts up, and I really hate him, he has the most annoying voice ever, hes a backseat driver and I wish I could slam his head into a wall, because maybe then he'd shut up.
He's usually just annoying, but today when I was driving at 55 mph, on a two lane country road, with oncoming traffic. The Retard was sitting behind me, and the little shit reaches up past my left side, and starts fumbling with the controls on the driver side door. It of course distracts me, and im like "dude, what the hell do you think you're doing?" and the instructor starts to say something to me about slowing down, and then looks over and saw that. Then he yelled at the Retard, and he finally gave up trying to hit the window button. I swear, if that little bastard ever pulls that trick again, im crushing his hand with my elbow. [/rant]

Maybe the Retard tests your patience. You know, if you have kids someday :D ~Jason

Consider it good practice, you'll have to put up with retards regularly while driving.... that, or carry a tazer.

Simple solution: slam on the brakes as hard as you can. If he's leaning forward to touch stuff on the driver's side door from the backseat, this means his face is inches away from the back of your seat, and he will do a hard face-plant (with the lovely neck-wrenching option).

Nice idea Wong, if I can get a chance to do that, and figure out a good excuse for slamming my brakes, im going to. I can "accidentaly" not see a stop sign, itd be believable, as Iv done it twice already. I haven't actually run them yet, just came to a quick halt, leaving a skid mark on the road once.

If you're on an empty road, simply say you were practicing your emergency stops, as long as you show checking of mirrors and do all the relevant procedure, and if your instructor also finds it annoying, then I cant see why you can't get away with it.

Makes me glad I passed my test in the UK, we dont get observers in the back, although the theory tests seem to be becoming very obscure with new visual testing as well, and reaction time stuff, IIRC...
