Wow. Now I have to read the book, much like American Psycho, that film was fun and fucked up at the same time and the main antagonists were always likeable.

Makes one wonder about reformation programmes though, what the gov't could try out on some convicts.

The other freaky bit about that movie is seeing a younger David Prowse without the Darth Vader gear.

:? It's been a long time since I've seen the movie but he was the "body guard" that was taking care of the crippled guy who took Alex in after he got out of the program.

No, no. In the UK David Prowse is best known as the Green Cross Code Man who helped kids in TV ads to remember how to cross roads safely (before those damn animated hedgehogs tookover, like you'd take road safety advice off future roadkill, grrr!).

The Green Cross Code Man could whup Vader anyday of the week. :D

Oh, okay. :D

I knew it sounded familiar but it just wasn't clicking in my head.

That movie always sticks "singing in the rain" in my head or Nazis marching to Luddwig Von. :? :)

The Beethoven music reminded me of End of Evangelion too much.

Read the book. Seriously. It's a much better story than the movie presents it and really serious moral lesson that sort of gets lost in the movie (especially since they left out the events of the 21st chapter).

Yeah, it completes the book. Without the final chapter, it only brings everything to full circle... there is no actual development or lessons learned.

Eh? Oh, you weren't talking about me...Welcome to my world!

READ THE FUCKING BOOK. It's very short, too.

I first saw that movie when I was about 7. Up until around a year ago I never knew what that movie was...Just remember the rape scenes, really.

I also saw Full Metal Jacket back then, too. I thought R. Lee Ermey was Sergent Slaughter from G.I. Joe! :lol : Only remembered the part where Pyle blows him away (but not Pyle blowing himself away for some reason.)

I first saw it when I was 15, *looks at watch*, oh my gawd, twenty years ago!!!!
The Beethoven and violence had me hooked. It's my favorite flick.
And the book is great, the nadsat slang glossary at the back is a must.

It really spun me out when i saw it. I can't explain the feeling, but it was a cross between sick, happy, sad, revolted, and angry.

Clockwork is an awesome movie. I saw it the first time when I was ten, didn't like it much then, but when it came from television last January I fell in love with it. Too bad I replaced my Alex avatar with Tony just a week ago... Oh yeah, that line about "The Green Cross Code Man" gave me a good laugh.

EDITED.

Anyway, every time I watch that horrible, beautiful, sickening, brilliant film, I end up compelled to use Nadsat for at least 3 days!

I'm having a hard time not slipping into it just thinking about the film -- especially because, as a young malchick (oops) I got up to a bit of nahstiness myself, yessss!

Tony is much cooler than Alex. :D
