What sounds better, Off Topic or SD.Net Community?


It really was Off Topic when the board was just about SWvsST, PSW, and S&L, but it's become so much more since then. Really this is more of the community hang out. Alot about what's going on in everyone's lives what they've been doing. So is the name Off Topic still appicable?

How about OTC? Off-Topic & Community. Since it's still pretty heavily off topic.

We should rename it to The Cantina.

No. 'Cantina' sounds like the name of a Mexican man-love wrestling match, which is why I shudder whenever I hear anyone refer to the 'Cantina Scene'.

I like OTC, but Cantina sounds pretty cool.

I think most people will get what it is refering to and besides, it is "a hive of scum and villany.


Actually, now that I think about it that discription fits the HOS better.

Off-Topic is fine. No need to change it, IMO.

I wasn't suggesting that I would change it, just wondering if others felt the same way about the "Off Topic" name.

Uh...Rob, you know I love you and all, but how is using that word to mean something is 'weak or stupid' not offensive? I personally find it highly insulting when people use the word that way, and I'm not homosexual.



As for the forum, it's always reminded me of the pool room at Christ College in Tassie, so if it was me, I'd name it something boring like "The Pool Room." Or maybe just "The Watering Hole." Or perhaps "Anus Central." I'm still rather undecided.

...yet would reflect what the OT forum, and the board in general, has grown into. As well, it stay in the theme of naming the forums what they are, rather than giving them figuritive names. I like OT&C.
