Staying up all night and need something to do

Post by --Leia-- »

These boards probably slow up around this time of night (or day for some people) and I'm pulling an all nighter. I plan on watching either The Matrix or the commentary on Chasing Amy. Maybe do some reading (Shatterpoint) also.

Anyone have tips on pulling all nighters?

Yeah, don't stop moving and never close your eyes. :P
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Don't masturbate. That'll end up making you tired.

Well, you can a little, but just watch out that you don't do too much. :P

I recommend video games. They do the trick for me every night.

"Right now we can tell you a report was filed by the family of a 12 year old boy yesterday afternoon alleging Mr. Michael Jackson of criminal activity. A search warrant has been filed and that search is currently taking place. Mr. Jackson has not been charged with any crime. We cannot specifically address the content of the police report as it is confidential information at the present time, however, we can confirm that Mr. Jackson forced the boy to listen to the Howard Stern show and watch the movie Private Parts over and over again."

Yeah, games are definitely your friend. DoD and/or Soldat are good. The only game that has ever consistently had me doing all nighters (and indeed completely fucked up my sleep/awake time last summer) was Neverwinter Nights

What usually keeps me up is games(Was up all night playing the Superhero AMX mod for Counter-Strike servers, think of it as the WC3 mod but with superheroes.) and movies. (and caffine of course)

EDIT: I recommend RPGs, like Dungeon Siege or Morrowind, have killed lots of hours with games like those.

I'd say a new video game. With movies and books, you run the risk of dozing off, but they'll work too. The important thing is to always have something to do, or else you'll fall asleep due to boredom.

Movies put me to sleep but for somereason. The little bit of activity it takes to work a computer helps me stay up much longer than just watching a movie or reading a book.

Wank it every 4-7 days.
That's it? Dissappointing.

I usually hit the sack around 1:30 to 2:00 in the morn', but for an all-nighter, I recommend a lot of coffee, if you're a first-timer. Three and a half days without sleep is my record.

I just pulled a 50 hour stint a couple of days ago due to work and projects around the home. Since wednesday morning at 11:30 am until now I have logged 6 solid hours of sleep. So 6 hours of sleep in the past 84 or so hours. Nope, there's no pride in that really. It is what it is.
