who would win in a fight?
Marine Drill Instructor Gunnery Sgt. Hartman from Full Metal Jacket
or
Army Drill Sergeant Sgt. Hulka from Stripes
We all know Hartman was a bad ass, but Hulka was pretty kick ass towards the end of the movie Stripes. So who is the better combatant?

Get over the obstacle, private Sea. Get over. Are you going to quit? Are you? Are you going to quit on me Private Sea?
Get the FUCK off my obstacle, Private Sea, Get the FUCK off
Besides, Gunny can always get D'nardo to create a 'change of command' and boot the Army out of the top slot.
disclaimer, the mangled quotes are from Full Metal Jacket and Fire Base Gloria respectively.

Hey, I am a Corporal in the Marines damn it, or well I was. Still am technically until Feb. 23, 2004 when my IRR (Individual Ready Reserve) time expires.
You know what was sad is that the alot of the obstacles that guy had problems with in FMJ were easy as shit in real life.

Ah, but the Marine Corps only has the older M1A1 version; Army has the top-of-the-line M1A2. And the Marines don't have nearly as many tanks, either -- they're mostly infantry force with armor support, wheras the Army tends to be more of an armor force with mechanized infantry support.

Hartman all the way!
Hmm, just thinking, who would win between current US Army and Marines? say the Army defending something, Marines attacking, and vice versa. That might be a topic to pursue sometime

Probably the Army, unless water is involved. There's only so much time in a day for training, and the Marines put a good deal of effort into amphibious work, which is ignored by the Army. On land, with equivilent US Army and Marine forces, the Army force would probably win. Maybe. By a hair.
