Well, regarding my new avatar, and following a trend in the testing forum, What is your favorite Muppet? Any favorite moments? Let's share those good old memories... (specially from the older members, given the yyyyeeeaaarsss this show has)

The one that always sticks in my mind was a shot of Gonzo appearing with a Blunderbuss, laughing maniacally, pulling the trigger and his head exploding, it seemed almost Pythonesque at the time...

I don't have any favorites, although Waldorf and Statler, Dr. Honeydew, and Animal come close. I kinda feel sorry for the franchise, now that entire thing is derailed. *Sighs, gets over it, then watches an old episode*

Of course the Star Wars episode was a classic.

When I was a kid in the 80's, I loved the "Muppet Babies" cartoon. I had all of the M.B. Happy Meal toys too. I found out they are worth some money now. Damn it! What happened to them?

I love that episode
LUKE: What can save us now?
KERMIT: A song and dance number!
*commence musical number*

Swedish Chef.

No one fave moment but the Mark Hamill episode was classic for me.

PIIIIIIIGS IN SPAAAAAAACE!

Now, there's sci-fi! (Specially, when Miss Piggy has to carry out the dangerous task (for the crew of course!) of ironing the Captain's trousers!)

And here's a little clip for the Beaker fans

I always felt sorry for poor Kermit, having to manage the whole show like that and being the target of Ms Piggy's affections and tantrums. :) Fond memories... Dr. GoldTooth's Band. Dr BOB ("The story of a quack who's gone to the dogs"). Pigs In Space. Fozzy's comic routine with the Old Men hecklers. Swedish Chef (BorkBorkBORK! *toss, Crash!*)

They still make me grin, just thinking about them. But there were also many great guests that appeared on the show...

Roger Moore, who refused to do anything Bond, then had a spy v/s spy shootout while singing "Talk to the Animals".

Danny Kaye, sitting down with all the muppets and singing "Inchworm" as a little muppet worm moved slowly up his arm.

Of course, the StarWars crew, with Gonzo playing "Dark Helmet" or something like that, and Ms. Piggy flinging herself at Luke repeatedly.

I think it was "Darth Nader"

The chef. That guy was hilarious. I guess its a joke partly at the expense of the swedish accent, but it was mainly that the guy was an idiot.

"First we put thee turkey in thee pot.... here turkey turkey turkey turkey..."

They're all cool. Swedish Chef, Sam the Eagle, Aroch (the argyle gargoyl who gargles Gershwin), the two old guys, poor put upon Kermit...
The Muppet Show was probably the best thing on television in the 70s. And the franchise itself was pretty healthy up until Muppets in Space or whatever that was. Muppet Treasure Island and Christmas Carrol were both pretty good.

Woka woka woka. Ah, the memories. Fozy and Beaker were the best yet Pigs in Space was a staple in the Muppet watching diet.
