It should be here too but they always whine about it being part of their right to free speach.
They may have the right to say what they want but they don't have the right to
make me listen to them in my house.

Who did you give your phone number too? That's just like crazy.

Ok I was exaggerating(sp) but i have had the same phone# for the past 7 years so everyone has it one way or another. I get a call from a telemarketer at least 2 times a day

I figured you were exaggerating. But not that much.

Okay, who's the stupid asshole who Slashdotted that server!?
Code: Select all
The Operation Timed Out when attempting to contact www.donotcall.gov.
EDIT: Much better! Ironically I got in through the Slashdot link LOL

My main defence involves being online constantly. I've already registered on my state do not call list, I assume this currently overloaded link is to the national version?

See i have a good way of dealing with them. I know when its a telemarketer because they can't pronounce my last name. So i mess with them. When they mis pronounce it i just tell them no one lives at my phone# with that name (hey its true) or i just hang up. Sometimes i just put the phone down and let them ramble on with what ever they are selling it takes them along time to figure out there is no one one the line

Umm, it says that there is no data after I put in the numbers and e-mail address when I click submit. Very bad. Did anyone else have this problem?

Just do something like this:
TELEMARKETER: <Insert salesman drivel here>
YOU: Sorry, I'm busy right, why don't you give me your home number so I can call you back later.
TELEMARKETER: We're not really supposed to do that...
YOU: Oh, I guess you don't really want me bothering you at home.
TELEMARKETER: Yeah...
YOU: Well now you know how I feel.
Then hang up.
Well it worked like that on Seinfeld at least...

I just stay silent and wait till they hang up. It's funny as hell

AOL put this link out on people's start up pages this morning so I'm not surprised that it's getting overloaded. Most of us stay up late, give it another try then if it doesn't look like it's working.

he has done that a couple of times. I can't bring myself to do that stuff because i would end up laughing to hard on the phone. I have no poker face when it comes to phone pranks

A lot of the time, the people that are actually making the calls aren't really bad people. Calling is hard.
Though I have no problem with doing it to those that don't even make an effort to do their jobs with a cheerful voice.
VERY important if you used a webmail to sign up for this
