You know how Asuka hates it when Shinji keeps apologizing over and over again?


Well, I recently found out why. And it is...annoying, to greatly understate.

Asuka doesn't like Shinji's constant appologising because she thinks it makes him sound pathetic and because she can't stand how he doesn't stand up for himself.

Then again, Asuka is more screwed up than he is, so she might just be looking for something to yell at him for...

I prefer Ritsuko's explanation. I think she says he apologizes to avoid being chewed out.

I thought she said that he just does what he's told.

Probably. You know the series better than I do. I just like that explanation.

I have the opposite problem. I have no problem apologizing for minor stuff I've done, but anything serious and you won't get a word out of me, literally.

Just to clarify, I'm sympathizing from Asuka's perspective. Though the person who kept apologizing had a different reason than Shinji, the general effect was still pretty much the same. Annoying as hell.

I'm just like Shinji with apologies too. People tell me it drives them crazy so I try to keep it down, but for some reason I just do it.
