By the way, just this last week I heard a guy on the radio complaining about how much it cost to buy food in Hawaii. It sounded like all he bought was a loaf of bred, some soda, some milk and maybe a couple of other things and the cost was over $60.

So the cost of everyday supplies would definately be something worth looking into before you move there.

I was stationed in Kaneohe Bay and I had fun in Hawaii but would not want to live there. Aside from the extremely high cost of living, you are on an island and limited to that island unless you fly to another. Basically I mean that road trips are out, unless you count driving for 30 minutes a roadtrip. Just to give you an idea of how expensive it is there, when I was there a gallon of milk cost over $5 as compared to here it is about $2.29 and gas rarely went below $1.70 for the cheap stuff(and that was on base where stuff is cheaper than in town).
Great place to visit, not so great to live there.

The living cost is fairly high, but not unbearable. The climate is great, people are friendly. There's a lot of mixing of cultures.

Oh, and I recall $4 milk
