I'm a black 19 year old guy. I've been dating a white girl for the past few weeks. Well lets just say its going pretty great. except for my father, I have a feeling he doesn't approve.(but who care's) As for her parents they seem to like me alot. You would figure it would be the other way around.her father even invited me golfing. I rather go to central park and play basketball, I don't even know shit about golfing all i know is the lowest score wins or something like that. The rest of my family don't have a problem with her.

I'm just wondering what everyone opinion of interracial dating in general?

Just as long as your happy who cares. I see no problem with it.

Make sure noone can say anything bad about you. Get a good education in college (don't rely on pipe dreams like so many black kids in my highschool, basketball isnt a worthwhile goal). Be the best man you can and noone will be able to touch your worth.

I never said i wanted to be a basketball player. I just said i would rather play that than golf. I'm currently in college.

I have absolutely no problems with interracial dating and marriage. Unfortunately, there is much opposition from all races to interracial dating.

I have no issue with inter-racial relationships whatsoever. You may encounter shit from some racist assholes, but they can go eat razorwire for all I care. I hope everything works out well in your relationship!

All other things being equal, I personally would try to avoid interracial dating, because there are so many fucking morons out there that have a problem with it. Race wouldn't stop me in the slightest if there was someone I cared about of a different color, but I'd just as soon not have the trouble if I could avoid it.

As to other people, its really none of my fucking business. If you want to marry someone who's black, white, purple, or green, I really don't care. Whatever makes you happy.

Good for you! As a product of an interracial marriage (mom's black, dad's white), I can honestly say that nothing wrong'll happen that wouldn't ordinarily happen in a relationship. If it makes you two happy, go for it!

As I said in my homosexuality post, it truly doesn't matter. Hell, my functionality arguement doesn't even go here.

But if you're happy, who cares? People are so set on their norms that it's disgusting. Obviously, you started to get to know this woman's mind, her quirks, her personality, her behaviors. So who gives a flying fuck if her skin is lighter than yours?

And besides, it's your relationship, not your fathers. I love it when parents do this, truly. They don't approve. That's nice. I doubt you asked for his two cents. Now, I'm sure you respect your father, and would never say such a thing, but seriously, parents and people like this should stand in front of your bending ass so they can plant a nice healthy smooch.

But, you know, if you're happy, you can have one of my cookies (Tragic receives one (1) cookie). And you should not have to avoid it because people might give you a problem. Like I said, who truly fucking cares? It's nobody's business. If they don't like it, fine, don't do it. It's not their business if someone else does. If anything, this will make your relationship stronger if you can pull through with it.

Oh really? Well, how would you like a SD.Net Follower? Zaia has enough that I don't think she'd mind... (Just kidding...mostly, anyway)

I have no problems with inter-racial relationships. If anything, I support them. (I tend to find girls with mixed blood to be the most attractive.)

However, there are the racists who don't approve, and they can cause trouble. (How much depends on where they live and how well you can deal with them.) There are also those who fear the racists, and so may try to discourage you for your own good (in their view), to protect you from the racists.

As long as you can deal with the racists, go for it. You're not doing anything wrong.

That is disgusting. People should stay within their own environmental adaptation group.

*sigh* I grew up hearing my grandma muttering "Look at that girl, dating a Blackman! Can't she find a good white boy? And she's got a child! Don't they know what they're doing that to poor child, half-breed like that?"

I truly hope that I've gone beyond my upbringing. Personally, I don't care who you date, as long as you treat her right.

However, while I've seen many pretty black women, I have never been sexually attracted to any black man. So maybe I've not gone that far after all...

Interracial dating and mariage is a non-issue.

And IIRC, (but correct me if I'm wrong) breeding between different racial groups is good for the genes.

When I was in Toronto, I was actually surprised my first few hours how many interracial couples there were strolling down the street. It's apparently a city where nobody honestly gives a shit about what color you are, which is the way it ought to be. The degree to which Americans self-segregate is unhealthy.

Funny story: Have a friend who was black/white. His mom was white and his dad was black. Anyway he started dating this white girl and his dad was really upset with him because of it? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever
