Yes, two of the largest Union victories in the American Civil War. Gettysburg was a large field engagement in Pennsylvania. While the fall of Vicksburg remove that last Southern bastion on the Mississippi river, leaving it firmly in the control of the Union. Among other things it allowed for Union farmers in the east to begin exporting there grain once again. It also cut the Confederacy off from the beef of Texas and its main mercury supply, a key component of percussion caps.Gandalf wrote:I have no idea of that of which you speak.
