The Union victory at Gettysburg happened on July 3, 1863.
The Union victory at Vicksburg happened on July 4, 1863.
It is time to celebrate.

Yes, two of the largest Union victories in the American Civil War. Gettysburg was a large field engagement in Pennsylvania. While the fall of Vicksburg remove that last Southern bastion on the Mississippi river, leaving it firmly in the control of the Union. Among other things it allowed for Union farmers in the east to begin exporting there grain once again. It also cut the Confederacy off from the beef of Texas and its main mercury supply, a key component of percussion caps.

Within two days of each other.
total 50,000(mostly confederate) fatalities at Gettysburg, 30,000 Confederates surrendered at Vicksburg.

By the middle of June, the invasion hour having come and gone, Hitler established another "firm" date to open Citadel—on July 4. It was to be a date, remarked the chief of staff of the XLVIII Panzer Corps in a blunt appreciation of what Citadel was all about, that was "Independence Day for America and the beginning of the end for Germany."
