Do you think people who throw pie in the face of politicians are doing it for a valid reason,or are just showing us they have no imagination in the protest department.

It's probably just because it's more fun than a regular protest, and it's as close as you're going to come to punching one without getting stomped by their bodyguards and thrown into prison for 10 years. There are quite a few I'd like to pie, and quite a few more for whom I'd shit in the pie pan first.

I think in their minds they are conviced they are making a statement. When in reality they just distance themselves from the average person.

Next time Hovid is in town, I'll bake him a whipped-cream and brick pie.

I don’t know what such people think, but I cease to give a damn about their cause when they do such things. I think that’s probably true of most people.

I find it hilarious. I wouldn't do it to Dubya though- you'd get shot instantly and the morons on Fox News would be justifying it the next day by claiming you were a terrorist and had put poison in the pie.

You are very correct. I tried to make this point to some militant environmental types when I was in college. They just dont get it, they have convinced themselves that others will see it as a daring action.

Pies and crap like that are best used against extremists (like Phreddy Phelps), not by them (like say what PETA keeps doing).

He got 5 metres, and was tackled. He managed to get away from them, but the police arrested him. It was a banana cream pie, not on of those whipped-cream theatre pies.
