I wonder if CR Washington still has that copy where I wrote "This book is a fake" on the title page...

It's good to be confirmed that you were right all along.

Authors like that are annoying, to be honest. They can take their holier-than-thou attitudes and cram them up their asses for all I care.

As an aside, I couldn't help but laugh at the people who thought that the Blair Witch Project really happened.

What is truth to one is a lie to another.
Besides who cares if it's a story about some dumb ass chick who fucked her life up or if it's the turth about said dumb ass chick.
This type of shit happens every damm day so why worry about it.

Go Ask Alice was the product of Beatrice Sparks, an author who has come out with a number of "teens who saw their lives ruined by their bad choices" offerings, each one presented as a true story, often in the form of a diary of an anonymous teen:
It Happened to Nancy (she's dying of AIDS)

Annie's Baby: The Diary of Anonymous, a Pregnant Teenager

Treacherous Love: The Diary of an Anonymous Teenager (teen girl is sexually taken advantage of by a teacher)

Jay's Journal (yet another diary, this one of a teen boy who turned to satan worship and drug use)

Almost Lost: The True Story of an Anonymous Teenager's Life on the Streets

Kim: Empty Inside: The Diary of an Anonymous Teenager (eating disorders)
Hehe. "Reefer Madness" all over again.

LT, there are such things as pursuing the path of Truth and fighting Ignorance. This falls under both, and I am one of those people who fight to quelch lies and ingorance.

But this isn't a thread for debate, so I don't want to continue such.

Hey I'm cool with that as for me I guess I'm to jaded to give a rat's ass anymore.
But thanks for sharing the post anyways

At least we know one teenage diary is real. (All in all people are generally nice and things work out in the end-A.F.)

Not saying this article is true or not but...

Who says Snopes is always correct? Some people assume that Snopes is infallible (gasp)

Reading the article, it's reasoning is rock solid.

The book's formulaic, focuses on shit a real adolscent wouldn't (probably) give two shits about (in comparison to other matters) is wordy, etc.

Hmm, I read that book in 7th grade... It was an ok book.

It's sad how people feel the need to invent things then claim that it is true.

Good old mary jane, I always find it funny to think about that guy who loves mary jane and thinks he's a spider.

It's pathetic that this woman thinks that she can't effectively get a message across in a story that people know is fictional.

For some strange reason, I thought this thread was called "go ask the police" :|
