I am a former christain and now am training to become a druid. while i was christain i was taught that other religions are wrong. now i dont knwo if u where raised as i was but i belive that these mainstream religions are corrupt. They want mroe worshipers and more $$ and that is why im gussing they hate each other cause to them its bout $$ more than spirtual. that is why i am trying to become a druid. cant wait to see what you right and merry meet.

I have no idea what the common religious beliefs of druids are, but I agree with you insofar as I think that many of the "mainstream" religions are corrupt. Look at the Christian church in the Middle Ages! They blackmailed people into paying them in order to avoid Purgatory--something they created in the first place to attract more followers!

That and the Crusades.

I never heard anything about other religions being wrong from any people involved with the Church around here. I guess I'm in one of those rare areas of the world where there is tolerence.

It's not religion it's competition for materials and mating rights. Yup we want all the land, and we evil males want to fuck everything. Left to our own devices we would be happy to bash in eachother's skulls, take the land, fuck all the women, etc. However this hasn't been allowed for a long time, so we use "Race" and "Religion" and "Nationality" as excuses to engage in behaviour that we tell our selves is otherwise reprehensible. (War, Looting, Rape, muggings whatever)

Teaching that another religion is wrong doesn't equate to teaching its members to hate those who belong to different religions. By that logic, if I disagree with you on what can be considered "reasonable" taxation, then I should hate you... but I don't.

If your religion teaches that it is the only "true" religion, there's nothing wrong with that. If it teaches you to hate "heathens", "infidels", "nonbelievers", or any other person designated as someone not of your religion, then it's wrong, and is in the same category as racism IMHO.

BTW... my religion does teach it's the only true religion, but it also teaches us not to hate other religions, and that many religions contain at least a part of the truth in them (with a few exceptions, like those that teach their members to hate a particular group). Heck, even though we don't condone homosexuality, we also teach our members that it's wrong to hate someone who is homosexual. Too bad more religions didn't teach things like that...

I feel you...I'm training in Witchcraft/Wicca here...I know exactly what you mean...People more of than not, bash me becuase A) Not Christian, and B) gay. The combo is really bad...

It's mostly Human nature to fear and hate the Unusual. Especially in the past where it was very prominent and encouraged.
