Ahhh fuck. I don't even see why it should matter what color skin Adam had.
But frankly, if the first man had black skin, and the whites came later, that might mean that white people evolved, while blacks didn't.
But I don't want to drag race into this, just try to shoot down the racist "blacks are better because they came first" idea.

Whites evolved, as did blacks. It's just that blacks didn't need to change their skin tone, as they hadn't migrated to a new environment, whereas the whites had.

IIRC, there's a kind of vitamin d(?) which is produced in our bodies when ultraviolet light strikes certain proteins. Too much or too little of this vitamin is dangerous. The pigment which produces different skin colors moderates the amount of uv which can penetrate the skin and reach these proteins. People where uv is less intense, like northern Europe, have less pigment to allow more of the available uv in, and vice versa with places like Africa and Australia.
