Anyone else's sleep cycle screwed up because of the summer?

Post by Trytostaydead »

It's been so hot and dry during the day, I sleep through the day and I'm wide awake at 4 in the morning. Dammit.

While it's not summer here, for the last 2 weeks I've been on school holiday, today, for the first time in 2 weeks, I get up before noon.

Same thing here, minus the "sleep through the day" part. I've grown attached to coffee thanks to my lack of sleep. Even now, I am making typosa fdie to d my aslkeep.

Yeah, and you know what, being a weightlifter I constantly feel hot anyway. I can't take it. I HATE it. This is my last summer in northern California. Next year, hello bay area!

Not really. I actually get up earlier now for work than I usually do for classes at school.

My sleep schedule is perpetually fucked up. Summer has noting to do with it.

You guys should head over here for the summer, because we have something like four to six hours of semidarkness at best (doesn't get truly dark at all) and in the really north part of the country the sun doesn't set at all. Now that, gentlemen, will screw up your sleep cycle like nothing else unless you're used to it...

My sleep cycle's screwed up because I've been sick and falling asleep watching TV.

Get to sleep at 12-2am, wake up at 7am, go to school, go back to sleep at about 11:40-12:30pm, wake up again at about 7pm.

And yes, I do require about 18-20 hours of sleep per day, especially when I am having "issues" with my emotional stability/state. In otherwords, right now. If I am not having issues then I can get away with 4 hours of sleep per night for 2 weeks, and need 6-8 hours to function properly the rest of the time.

Yep, I go to sleep between 3 and 6 and wake up between 11 and 2. Plus, I never seem to wake up rested. Life sucks :?

Anything over 25 degrees C and I cannot get sleep until I collapse from exhaustion.

It's practically random most of the time. I got up at 9 AM today, but that has no relation to yesterday's wakeup time (1130!) or tomorrow (anywhere from 1300 in the afternoon to 0500, who fucking knows?) LOL

I use 24 Hour Military Time. IMO it's far superior to 12hour AM-PM time. 8)

EDIT: And it really helps that my boyfriend uses 24hour time as a nurse, and that Windows has it as a setting on its clock. :D

I woke up around 7am today, but went in and out of sleep until about 9am. I was really tired, from all the heat lately and moving and such. Today is gonna be another hot one, at least the building Im in today has A/C.

Overall the summer does not screw up my sleep habits, not having a steady job does that. Ive been good since March, I usually wake up early for temp work, or just to get errands done. Back in Feb I was up late all night watching infomercials. Ugh...

My sleep cycle only gets fucked up if I've got no schedule to follow. Any other time, I sleep like a baby, summer or not.

My sleep cycle is fine. It's perfectly normal to sleep from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

I've got a weird sleeping pattern anyway although it is worse in the summer. I hate the heat.

I've started napping more in the afternoons and staying up later at night. Probably because I don't have school and I'm only working part time these days.

Now that I don't have to go to school I stay up late to watch Adult Swim and sleep in until 8:30 or 9:00.
Don't hate; appreciate!

I woke up at 4:30PM today. Yeah, summer screws with me. Tomorrow I'm gonna want to wake up at a normal time because I've got band practice, and it sucks waking up and then having to go and march around two hours later.
