You've got to be careful when meeting people off the 'net. It's easy to conceal who you are. If that's not abundantly clear by now, I don't know what's wrong with people.

But it sounds like he's not really a suspect at this point. No need to jump to conclusions just yet.

Yeah... i would never recommend meeting someone off the net. It is very dangerous as i had the friend that did it and the guy ended up stalking her

After a couple years I think its okay to consider meeting, I doubt many people who wish you ill would keep there efforts up for that long. Of course the logical rules like keep in public for the initial meet remain.

It's possible that he created a rather inflated online persona that she fell in love with, and on discovering that it wasn't real and she was again alone (or stuck with a loser), committed suicide. I suspect that this one is more like the guy in Taiwan, and think your advice sensible.
