Sports and breakable objects

Inspired by Durandal's thread in G&C.

How violent do you get when watching sports, in attendance or otherwise? When I'm watching UGA football, I scream and cuss without exception, both when I'm at the game and when I'm at home. When I'm at home I tend to smash the floor pretty hard and beat up couch cushions. During the Kentucky game last year I recall ripping the handle off of a recliner and throwing it at the television.

My father, who was as far from Politically Correct as can be, would sit and watch football games, and whenever certain members of his team had the ball we'd always hear him say: "Go N(g)r go!! Run N(g)r Run!"
There were also comments about watermelons..

I loved my Dad, and I miss him totally... but he was *NOT* PC.

Sometimes I make sarcastic comments about the performance of the players. It is very rude and they would not appreciate it were they present.

When watching baseball, basketball, and hockey, the worst that happens to me is I curse and make sarcastic remarks like, "That's great. Ten million a year to hit an infield pop fly with the bases loaded. You stupid fuck."

When the Eagles are on, it's an entirely different matter. I'd rather not discuss it, save that I say things that would make my mother cry and there's a hole in the drywall thanks to a dropped pass in the end zone on third down.

I rarely, if ever, comment during sports. Typically, if the Phillies are losing six hundred and fifty to one, I'll roll my eyes. Occasionally, if I'm watching football, I'll snap out some sort of exasperated or excited phrase.

My dad, however, while not physically active during sports games, tends to yell. Very loudly.

You must roll your eyes a lot.

I'm pretty much indifferent to all sports, at least until the Toronto Maple Leafs make it into the playoffs. Then I start cussing out coach Pat Quinn and the damn Europeans on the team who keep passing the puck around and giving it away. I also swear at the dumb defencemen who keep letting the opposition skate into the zone with the puck, and the dumb wusses who don't fucking bodycheck and knock the fuckers off the puck. Their passive playing style in the playoffs just pisses the hell out of me.

normally i'm a polite, articulate and respectable member of the community. sunday afternoons between august and january however.... well, lets just say for the past 20 some odd years i have watched the New England Patriots field some of the most shitty craptacular teams in the history of the NFL. Then there was the 2001 Super Bowl season. i nearly dropped dead. now it's back to the ho-hum team of under-achievers i have grown to love. and curse at like a drunken sailor.

Only for the Yankees and 49ers. the rage is equivalent to that of an F5 Tornado passing a stone.

Very much yelling and swearing. Little physical damage.

Things get a little more loud and angry and frustrated if I'm there in person, though.

I'm not into sports, but if there's a team I'm really rooting for, and they lost a game, I may be dissapointed. Especially since it seems that every team I root for loses.

Oi! Oi! Oi? (Can I yell that if I'm only an honourary Aussie?)

Anyway, I tend to yell lots, but I usually don't start brawls. Only a couple of times, they're not in my permanent record, but really, it's to be expected! My team is the St. Kilda Saints, so I'm never happy.... :D

When the Spurs blow a 20 point lead in the last quarter, you better duck.

St. Kilda is Aussie Rules. The only team that I love close to how much I love the Saints is the Green Bay Packers (w00t!). :D

GO PACK GO!!

Sorry, had to get it out of my system. They're a good team.

No, really!

At least they're not last... :P
