I'm going to Russia soon and I'm supposed to pick up some caviar. Does anybody know some decent brands? Nothing too expensive, but not the cheapest stuff either. Thanks.

And any other recommendations of stuff to do there?

I would advise you to buy it only in duty free stores at the airport. The caviar there is pretty much guaranteed to be authentic. Anywhere else, even in supermarkets, and its a possibility its fake.

Also, this concerns all food, not just caviar, especially in Moscow.

It's very salty. You just add a tiny little bit to a cracker, and it gives it a really strong taste to something fishy, like cod or something. Unlike cod, it doesn't taste like shit tho. I think it's good but many people don't like it or just get queasy after knowing they're fish egg/sacks.
