Well, it's pretty similar, at least from a foreigner viewpoint. The languages are sufficiently alike for us to communicate, We have lot's of sun and beaches so it's really easy to drop off work.
We're a friendly country, attracting lots of tourists (mainly english and german) and with very few racial/integration problems (thank God for that).
We speak English WAY BETTER than the spanish

Lastly, we were, to my knowledge, the only country to make a sucessful revolution against a dictatorship with only one casuality and with the army looking like this:

Never made it to either Portugal or Spain. I did go to Macao while it was still under Portugal's rulel. I really enjoyed The Crazy Paris Show at one of the casinos.
