Especially people with long curly hair. What's the best way to defeat tangles?

I've had to contend with loads recently, and i'm terribly hairsore...so...what's the best (least painful)method you have for untangling and keeping hair untangled?

Comb, or brush, it while still in the shower, with loads of conditioner in it. Let it air-dry, too.

Stick your hand in the hair, and untangle it.

Try using lots of conditioner and a wide-toothed comb. My hair's wavy and goes down to my shoulder blades and it works for me :)

Comb after the shower, rather then in it. No idea how or why but I used to comb while in the shower and it was never not tangled, now I do so after words and I'm tangle free most of the time. Conditioner helps too.

Well, this is SD.net, so I must ask: do you mean the hair on your scalp, or the hair between your legs?

That's good, because we knocked out the pubic hair thread a couple of weeks ago.

There's a wonderful invention known as hair conditioner which long haired babes like me use to keep our hair from getting tangled. I had wavy hair that came halfway down my back a few year ago and without hair conditioner and a good brush or comb I would've been in a world of hurt. Do the combing or brushing when your hair is towel dry (still damp) for best results. Try it someday, it works, and I promise I won't make fun of you for washing your hair like a girl.

Here's something: In addition to conditioner (took me a while to find the right one for me,) use a hair dryer, THEN brush it.

I DO use conditioner. But look how curly my hair is.

Well you can kinda tell. Anyway, it's really curly and is tangled to fuck when i wake up. And remember i'm hairsore, so what's the least painful way to remove them?

My hair hate's being hairdryed, it dries outwards if i do that, it's best to let it dry by itself.

Well, if Jmac's advice doesn't work, follow Montcalm's, except buy a British Lawyer Whig to wear over your head afterwards.

I used to date a Hair stylist and she told me to start combing at the ends and work your way up.
