Improving Precognition (how?)

I thought this should be in Logic, due to the steps needed, but decided here was safest.
I need you to ignore some physics, and assume the following:
1) you have the ability to see into the future
2) the ability isn't always reliable, or present
3) the ability is getting weaker over time
How would you go about strengthening the precognition ability? My ideas are:
1) take a deck of cards, shuffle them, then guess what each card is before looking at it.
2) when you have a precog flash, write down what it was, how you felt, and if it came true. This way, you can concentrate on the ones that are true.
The only problem I can see with #1 is that you might be viewing the card through a variant of X-Ray vision, and not be true precog. This can be solved by writing down what you see, then shuffling the cards and drawing one.
All other scientific rules do apply.
