I start 10th grade in two weeks. The week right after band camp, no less. Fun fun fun.

"This one time, at band camp..."

If it's a school band camp, than yeah, usually it ends right before school starts. And it CAN be fun, depends on who's running it and all, and how much you really want to do it. (I'm a Tenor Sax, btw. You?)

Bleh, band talk reminds me, I get to get up at 5 AM every morning, go to a coffee shop, and stay there until ~7:15, when I get to go to Jazz band. JOY! *wanders away grumbling about taking the optional period*

Is there anyone here younger than me? Anyone? Or at least someone who's 14? Come on, I don't want to be the youngest poster on the board.

I play Treble Baritone in symphoic, and then switch oer to Mellophone for marching. But band camp fun? I think not. Mr. Milch is a hard ass, and I'm a lazy ass, so things don't really work out well.

You poor, poor thing. Never, ever take an optional class until you're a junior!

Exonerate is 14 IIRC.

Monday will be my first day as a senior and I am 17.

I'm a BC Baritone and for the past two weeks I've been marching under the Texas sun in a parking lot carrying a metal horn.

You know, I actually have butterflies, I'm worried about school ending(who woulda thought?) because then I come to crossroads, and all that. I don't want to grow up. I want to be a Toys R Us Kid.

I have no fucking Idea...I was never sure of what grade I was in due
to my continous fuckups back in HS, and I'm not too sure of my status
at the college...

MY LIFE SUCKS!

Treble Baritone, eh? I considered the baritone when I started playing, but I like the Tenor saxaphone better. In my band, the two end up playing a lot of the same parts, just the saxaphone has a button combination for the notes, no weird stuff you have to do with your mouth and 3 buttons :P

I have a real cool band director, so band camp wouldn't be too bad. (didn't take it tho, laziness overwhelms me during the summer, and there's no way I'd make it every day, or even at all)

Bleh, It's Jazz band, and it's worth it. Just takes me awhile to wake up, and sometimes I come close to falling asleep during a song when we first start.

huh. I didn't know that. Anyone else?

EDIT: Hemlock, 9th grade, eh? You never struck me as someone around that age, but whatever.

uh huh. And where the hell are you from? Never heard that in my life. Actually, freshmen are the highest grade right now (school just turned from a middle to a high, and they're doing it in "phases", one grade at a time), and the 7th graders are the ones we make fun of. Haven't come up with anything quite as odd as "froshie" yet, but we're working on it.

You've never heard anyone use the term frosh? My school uses that all the time.

I've been a senior since June. Or do you mean senior with a class schedule?

Well, the freshmen out number us. In my school there are over 1600 fresh fish. Only 455 seniors. :?
