Just a thought. Which theme song from the three Terminator movies did you like the best?

And then there is the version from one of the Robocop trailers.

T2 had a much grander and darker theme than T-1 and as best I could tell T-3 did not have much of a theme at all. I'm not a fan of the guy who did T1 and T2's music, but what is a Terminator movie without those electronic percussions??

They had different themes?

Basically the same theme (for 1 and 2) but done differently with different instruments and all.

I prefer T2.

I liked the music best in the first one but the theme was probably a little better in T2.

The music in T3 seemed to be rather lacking.

T2...better beat.

T3 had one?

Definitly T1.

Terminator 2's was lighter and more orchestral; Terminator 1's was extremly dark in tone, it set the atmosphere brilliantly for the film. It had a cold and dark tone to the synthesizer whereas T2 was more epic and orchestral. Bothf fit each film IMO--T1 was a terrifying and gritty horror film, while T2 was an action epic.

oh yeah. T1 is better. Very dark and moody, reminds me very much of NIN.

T2, it seemed more emotional and generally better as a standalone, the T1 theme was darker, more forboding but they both had different atmospheres to illustrate, much like the way the films are different.

T3's music never caught me, it was orchestrated entirely and didn't have the eery synth and percussion sounds Fiedel used, the T3 theme at the end of the film sounded, ironically, horrible when done with a full orchestra.

T2 theme easily. There was a lot more to it than the similar one in t1. The t1 theme was too wussified and seemed more in keeping with the love story aspect of the first movie. That said, the synth between the main themes was cooler, like in Tech Noir and the police station.

T3? I didn't hear one. Although there was what sounded like the t2 one when the credits came on, but that ended fairly quickly.

Yeah, that's it, as the credits roll. It's fully orchestrated and while this should be good, it is not.

Brad Fiedel wanted a very cold, machine like soundtrack when he did these films, there is nothing meant to be nice about them, but T1 has a darker tech-noir sound, T2 is the perfect one as it is evidently timeless. The use of the synth and percussion and industrial instruments highlights the effects.

While both soundtracks (the proper and original films) are fairly dull on their own, they both fit perfectly with the onscreen action. The tracks that stand out as good ones in their own right are the main themes and the "It's Over (Good-bye)" track to T2 which is a nice and more emotional T2 theme (the T2 theme along with the images it accompanies had some of the film crew very upset at the prospect of such a thing ever happening in reality).

However, T1 and T2 have the most evil bad guy tracks, the music as Ah-nuld attacks the police station and the music when the T-1000 chases anyone is brilliant. The T-X had none of this which only showed up her frankly laughable portrayal of a emotionless killer machine.

T2. The music was just deeper, more intense and there was more of it.

I go with T2. The T1 theme seemed unrefined to me. In T2 it got a little money and thought put into it. T3 just treated it like an after thought.

Well, maybe I'm just crazy, but I went and actually bought the T3 soundtrack. There you can get the T3 theme, as well as John Conner's theme, and other bits of music (such as the Radio music).

All in all, while most of it seems to be heavy drums, I like track one (A Day in the Life), track four (JC Theme), track fourteen (Flying Lessons), the beginning of track sixteen (Terminator Tangle), track seventeen (Radio), and track eighteen (T3). Track nineteen (The Terminator) isn't the best, but it is fairly nice.

What those two lyrical songs (tracks twenty and twenty-one) are doing on there I haven't a clue. :?

Yes... :x

Y'know the control room music at the end? That's based off of it. As well as most of the heavy drum banging stuff.

I preferred T1's theme. It just seemed to fit the film better.
