Every restaurant commercial ever made.

I hate the one where it shows an old crone going at great lengths to describe her MEDICINE-ORDERING HABITS!!! All the while prattling on that it's super-private!! Dumbass! LIKE WE GIVE A FUCK!!! Worse: It's always at least a minute-and-a-half long from the simple fact she goes on-and-on-and-on-and-on-and-on-and-on-and-on about it....

Anyway, Thompson Autos (I think that's what it was called) commercials up in Portland Oregon. Wow, your kid bought an assload of pizza while you were bowling. How nice.

Einhander, what compelled you to bring back a thread that's been dead for 11 months? The least you could have done was bring back one of the other, younger, "What commercials you hate" threads...

But, your reply was relevant, and we haven't had a thread like this in a while, so I say we let it continue.

Anyway, the problem with commercials getting overplayed is extremely prevelant when you're watching very late at night (2AM-6AM) for some reason. I was once, and there was this commercial that was played every break. In only an hour, it went from "tolerable" to "kill it now!" from being played so damn much.

Car commericals, because they take existing songs, play the commerical alot and then when you hear the song on the radio you think of the damn car commerical thus ruining the song

Personally, I hate that commercial with Diamond Car insurance (not that any of you non-UK guys have seen it...). I don't know why, but the whole thing just irritates me.

The new Snoop-Dog Girls Gone Wild video. Apparently they're "Totally Uncensored." Which leads me to wonder: can something be half uncensored?

Car commercials. For one, they're targeted at the wrong demographic. Who spends most of their time watching TV? The 18-25 demographic. Can 18-25 year olds afford luxury sedans? Unless they're dealing drugs, probably not. But yet, advertising agencies are able to pitch these ads to car companies and succeed because the car companies desperately try to look hip. It is so very sad.

My award for most entertaining commercials goes to the ESPN "This is Sportscenter" ad campaign. These commercials are funny as hell. My personal favorite is the Y2K test, where they have one of the anchors talking about how they're going to be prepared for Y2K. They cut to ESPN mission control center, as they're about to start a test. Somebody hits the button, klaxons start going off, lights start flashing, and all hell breaks loose. Mascots are running around aimlessly, and Mark McGuire with a crazed look in his eye is smashing an office computer with a baseball bat. Another anchor comes up to the camera with his necktie tied around his head like a bandana, and war paint on his cheeks. With a serious look he says, "Come with me....Come with me to FREEDOM!" I was laughing for about fifteen minutes after I first saw it.

There's a car ad (i thnk it's Mazda) that has this fucking annoying song that just goes "zoom zoom zoom" over and over again! MAKE IT STOP!

I also hate computer game ads that make the game look so good when actually it's a pile of crap! (such as Devil May Cry 2)

Sorry for the semi-necromancy, but a commercial just entered my mind that pisses me off: Those Total commercials where people order otehr cereals and get a bunch of bowls to represesnt the bowls of that cereal needed to get the vitamins and minerals in Total. Because after all, the only reason we eat cereal is for nutrition...

If I want the taste and nutrients of Total, I'll just take a one-a-day pill with some cardboard.

And although they're not commercials, I'd like to say I hate pop-up ads for the 500th time. There's pop-up ads that you have to click twice to close, ads that you have to press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to get rid of, ads that have sound, ads that slow things down with flash animation, but now there's a new one: Ads that pop-up in the middle of your screen, slow things down with flash animation and block your screen. Not to mention half of them being about some minicam.

The Carrot Top phone commercials. I hate that guy!

I hate those commercials that play twice in a row. I dunno if someone screwed up the scedule, or what, but sometimes you just get done seeing a commercial, and you hope the show/movie is back on, AND THE SAME GODDAMN COMMERCIAL COMES BACK ON! It's like deja vu.

On the other hand, I like those commercials in between shows on HBO/Showtime/etc, because they only happen in between shows, and you can easily switch to one of the other 50 HBO channels while one is showing it's little commercial run.

Sorry about that. The current commercial that make me scramble for the remote is the A-1 commercial, with the guy, and his dog eating, and you can hear those horrible... disgusting... slurping sounds. Irritates the hell out of me. Fuck you, A-1

Late night infomercials. If they have nothing better to show then sign off the damn channel instead of showing crap all night!!!

I hate the beer ads we have right now, in which, while some guy is sleeping, his tongue crawls out of his mouth and gets a beer, it's creepy as hell.

There's this ad about credit checks with a yellow background and this irritating stick figure. I hate it. I want it to die.
