Sleep less, less often, while remaining productive.

Yeah, that's right, you never sleep do you? I can barely find the time to do one basic lighting tute and get my website together, and you've got 4 on the go plus a short film project.

I wish i was an insomniac as well, think of all the stuff I'd get done. I suppose my current jet-lag will have to suffice.
In all fairness I do sleep atleast 5 hours every 2 days. My current schedual is about 6pm-2pm, although if I've got alot going on I tend to put off sleep untill I've met my deadlines. I'm doing it without caffine now too. I used to be a 6 cups a day man, now I haven't had tea or coffee for 3 weeks. I also take time to eat, shower, and apease my wife occasionally.
In my experiance, maximising your sleep comes down to your diet and your mind. I never eat a big meal unless I'm ready to go to sleep right afterword, and I never bother trying to sleep if I have anything on my mind, because I know I won't be able to sleep anyway. You can pass the point of total exhaustion and catch a second wind about 3 times without sleeping before it begins to affect the quality of your work. Also you sleep better and more restfully when you are truly tired. It's like training yourself to eat less.
Right now I'm working on training my body to have to urinate less often. This is simply a matter of forcing your bladder to stretch and enlarge, the same as your stomach does each time you over eat. You have to be carefull, because you don't want to risk a bladder infection, but if you work on it slowely over a long period of time you can reduce your trips to the bathroom by 50%.
Maybe this all sounds extreme, but honestly, think how much of your life you waste in bed and on the toilet!

Of course there is. If you're in bed and you're not sleeping or having sex or doing something that leads to sex, you're wasting time.

As much as I like sleep, I'm probably going to have to cut back on my sleep majorly this first semester. 18.5 credits will probably rob me of a good chunk of my time.

I stayed up 5 days in a row without sleep once (I was trying to complete almost a semester's worth of work for 5 studio art courses the week before finals at the time.) I don't recommend the experience: I was having hallucinations during my last class. Nothing terribly exciting, just spinning lights around everything. Anyways, I learned two important things about staying awake for long periods of time. First, you need to add a fourth meal sometime during the night in order to keep your energy level up. Second, caffeine and sugar are NOT your friends when you're trying to stay awake for a long stretch of time: the brief boost in energy isn't worth the inevitable crash later on. It just wears your energy reserves down faster, and there comes the point where no amount of coffee will keep you going.

I find it's better to eat small snacks all day than big meals. I keep my energy levels up by eating alot of fresh pasta and drinking alot of water. I also eat ALOT of yogurt. Most times I get a little hungry I eat yogurt. My wife has a yogurt maker that is working pretty much 24-7.
I also don't eat Turkey (Except for Thanksgiving) as is has a tendancy to put me to sleep. I don't eat pork just because I think it's gross.
I try to stay away from anything greasy or hard to digest, and I hardly ever drink soda any more. That stuff is like, almost pure corn syrup.

What else is there, though? Everything ultimately leads to sex or sleeping--at least, in my house it does--so we're back to my point that there
is no wasted time in bed!

Just in case anyone was
not aware, I'm referring to classes in that "joke" above, not in a personal sense. Sorry for any confusion.

Does anyone else have the problem of being more tired when you wake up than when you go to sleep?
It's severely annoying.
