Long ago, some anthropologists suggested various racial groupings: Caucasoid, Mongoloid, and Negroid.... suggesting that each group had different origins. So Europe/Russia was Caucasian, Africa was negroid, and Asia/Americas were mongoloid.

The people from the Causasus region were taken as the "base form" for white people. I don't know why this particular group was chosen.

I'd rather have a foot with a different skin tone than no foot at all.

I don't think there's anything racial going on here, whites are the majority hence the majority of prosthetics are white.

Once again the media sensationalises something that really doesn't mean too much.

If the person getting the foot cares so much about what color it is why aren't people questioning his/her racial opinions?

BTW - as for many of the racial slurs directed towards white people, Skinheads actually use such terms to describe themselves. (I think there's a skinhead rock band (!!) called "The Blue-Eyed Devils")

Not necessarilly the majority but the majority of the client base.

What this report doesn't mention is that the woman is quesiton is not actually black, but mixed race. If she wants a foot that truely matches her skin colour, it'll be a long wait...
