Does anybody here have any idea what household items might be effective in removing semi-dried paint? I got my books from the school today, and kinda put them on a just painted bench without knowing... My pants also got stained a bit too.

Paint thinner & acetone are the best, WD-40 and most petroleum based solvents will work to some extent, use gasoline or lighter fluid only as a last resort. Soaking in hot water with lots of laundry detergent can help with your pants. Unless you have paint thinner or acetone it may be better to let the paint on your books dry and then try to scrape it off.

...and paint thinner and acetone won't leave the book in worse shape than it was before?

I managed to get a bit off the cover using rubbing alcohol, but no luck with the clothes...

Fire?

Um, seriously, I think applying more chemicals will just worsen their condition...
