For a while(as in, a few months), there's been a weird glitch with 'The Account of Isildur', starting from the middle of the wide-shot of Barad-Dur and ending with the start of the next scene.

Basically, the scene glitches and locks up, skips a bit, plays images on top of each other, and basically futzs up. I've got the Extended Edition, and there doesn't appear to be anymore scratching or smudges that there are on the rest of my DVDs.

I have the Extended Edition, BTW. Any idea what the problem is, or how I can fix it?

On my extended edition it had a bit of jumping in the Balin's Tomb fight scene, but after i rubbed it a bit and played it a couple of times it was OK.

Don't know if it's the same problem though.

You could try cleaning the disc. Other than that, replace it.
