In the spirit of all the food threads, how often are chopsticks part of your eating experience? For me, on a daily basis; stir fry for lunch and dinner (meal hall has a stir fry bar) and ramen at night, which I refuse to eat without chopsticks.

I eat my take-out Chinese with chopsticks everytime. The women at work just look at me weird, wondering how the hell I can use the bloody things.

Maybe I can learn how to use them for Sushi....... :D

As far as Chinese goes, I cannot eat fried rice with chopsticks. I'm not a patient enough eater. Steamed rice is no problem, though.

Usually only when in a Chinese restaurant, although sometimes I use chopsticks at home.

It depends on how the food is served. If its a rice plate, I use a fork. If it is served more traditional style ( aka in Bowls ) then chopsticks are used. I dont bother with chopsticks for takeout.

I never use them, even though I eat Chinese food every day (I go to Wok and Roll once a day).

They aren't better than a fork. Before you jump down my throat, note that I didn't say that they're worse than a fork. They just aren't better.

For ramen noodles, they're better. For everything else, they really aren't, but I still prefer to eat most Asian foods with them (maybe it's a mental thing, but they just taste better that way to me).

Only with Chinese or Japanese or anything I feel can be chopsticked.

I'll try for a while with some success, alternating with a fork whenever I feel like it, then I get frustrated and start spearing at my meal with the chopsticks, eventually reaching my limit and switching over to something more western in design.

Maybe it's the sense of authenticity you get when using them?

Probably. I don't feel comfortable eating anything else with chopsticks.

I like using chopsticks for asian foods. Actually, I think they're more useful than forks for many foods, Eastern and western.

As long as it doesn't involve cutting meat, I'm usually pretty good with chopsticks. :P

Daily. Twice, usually.

Mostly because I stirfry food to take to work with me, and have a bowl of rice and veg in the evening.

Using heathen fork implements is a once a week experience.
