Will Ariel Sharon be re-elected?

I think it's a safe bet that most of us wish someone else were in charge at this point, even those of us who are pro-Israel. But will it happen? Who would you like to see instead?

Think of it this way: There are those trying to achieve power who are even MORE diehard anti-Palestinian than Sharon. Sharon has, at the very least, managed to go contrary to his party's mindset when he didn't announce his refusal to accept a Palestinian state (his party wanted him to, but he hasn't, to my knowledge, done so).

He'll be replaced. He did little to stop ings, and only made thtem angrier.

The only person who can bring peace to the Middle East is Arafat... if he dies!

If peace is to come to the Middle East, the Palistinian leaders behind all the ism must be crushed, or the people of the West Bank must feel that they'll be better off without their own state.

It'll be nearly impossible for anyone to win two consecutive terms until the whole Palastinian thing is resolved.

No No, two different people. Although if Sharon looked like that I'm sure I'd watch the news more often.

Well, it was either the guy with the y name or the guy who couldn't stop brainwashed 10-year-olds from blowing themselves up.

A modern tragedy

Will: Yes
Should: No

It is a tragedy that attitudes on both sides have become so hardened that peace has become virtually impossible. Decades in a state of seige have hardened both sides attitudes to the point where genocide is considered the only option by people who you would expect to have a more reasonable and rational attitude.

Sharon has shown that he is a man who gets things done (albeit at a rather steep cost). He did even manage to stop suicide bombings for a few weeks by invading the Occupied Territories... So I guess he will be the people's choice.

It is just a shame that there isn't a charismatic peacemaker for people on both sides of the ethnic divide to turn to.

Bebe Netanyatu with be the next PM of Israel, then the blood bath will begin. (just after the next terroris attack) Gaza will be carpet bombed, the you will then have a reason to complain about atrocities. Oh yes, Yassir will be killed. "Having been labeled as a monster, it then behooves me to act mostrously, as I already have all the disadvantages of being hated so, with none of the coresponding advantages!" I really hope you were joking about V.I. Lenin being a peacemaker.

Doesn't zen state "If you find the Buddah, Kill him." Naemly because the Buddah is dead, and therefore does not exist?

Sharon? Ah, yes. The Butcher. Why he was elected, no one knows. If he'll stay. Probably, unfortunatly.

Who cares who gets elected, nothings going to change until Arafat and his type are out of power in Palastine, and that will be never.

Because Arafat won't go out of power on his own, Israel needs a Prime Misnister to do that.

They could have removed him when they had hi surround in that building, but the international community ( community-what a joke) were outraged. Israel can't do anything to get rid of Arafat short of killing him.

Here is what should happen

Give the Palastinians the west bank. But make Jerusalem an international free city because of its religious importance to three major religions. That F***ing has caused too many problems over the ages. :x

Give the Palastinians the west bank

Israelis have offered that to them, they refused.
