i'm new to these forums, but have been reading for the past 2 weeks. anyway, my grandmother went in on monday for a stress test (heart thing). the doctor wanted her to come in today (wed) for a heart catheter, but nothing to be concerned about. they found that her heart has 2 90% blocked valves or whatever, and the other 2 are 80% blocked (diabetes related). i'm in shock. please pray, or just keep her in your thoughts. thanks.

We... dont generally pray here, what with the majority here being atheists. But I wish her well, and hope that she recovers.

Alyrium, I think you'd be suprised. Most people here who do beleive are just low key about it.
Any way, Stormtrooper best of luck. It's good news that they caught it. When they do you'd be suprised how much they can do. Any way, best of luck to you and your family.

Stormbringer speaks The truth. It is VERY good that they caught it before anything catastrophic happened. She'll get fixed.....(Quoting bishop from Aliens) "They can fix everything."
Of course, he was rended in twain at the time and Ripley STILL brought him back for a chit chat, even AFTER the lifepod crashed! but I digress....BIGTIME!
She'll be fine, killer, don't you worry.

I hope she's ok, modern medicine has an astounding success rate, espically when things are caught early.

To my knowledge, there are more atheists here than most. However, doesn't mean they won't meditate on it, or at the very least, keep someone in need in their thoughts.
Me? Pantheist. I pray my own way.

Your grandmother is my thoughts and prayers, Storm.

Alyrium didn't say they don't exist, just that Atheists are the majority here.
Here is an interesting statistic. 10% of American Atheists are practicing Christians "Just in case".

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother. Praying isn't my thing, but I will certainly hope for nothing but the best for her. Take care.

I'm not so sure. I'd wager a lot of people are and just don't make an issue out of it.

We had a poll a while back, and, IIRC, the religious types were close to the same numbers of the non-religious.
As for me, I'll keep her in my prayers!

I choose the "keep her in your mind" option.
Hope your grandma gets better soon.

I have a good friend who believes in God. I usually pass all prayer requests to her.
I hope for the best, though - everyone deserves a happy moment and a break when shit happens.
