I have seen references to thread Neuromancy and presume it is the ressurrection of old discussions I was wondering what the time limit was for this practice

You can bring up an old thread, there's no time limit persay. But make sure the contribution justifies it.

And btw, it's "necromancy," not "neuromancy." ;)

I thought I saw someone use the word Neuromancy. Thus I thought that may be the named used on this board now I can't find it, either because I am not compentant in using the search function yet or because I have cloth eyes

Neuromancy...right...wouldn't that be like...resurecting a computer? You could set it on fire and then use your neuromancer skills to bring it back to life! You could destroy an expensive piece of technology as many times as you want!! Bliss.

Anyways, watch out for Straha. He's a Thread Necromancer.

Neuromancy would be the art of bringing brains back from the grave. Sounds like a particularly useful skill in this brainless world we live in.

That seems like a paticulalry useless skill, what with the decomposed bodies and all. Are the brains supposed to float in jars or something?

No, they float inside people's heads while those people perform menial tasks such as driving cars, yakking on cellphones, and being corporate slaves.

There's a line from Transvision Vamp's song Hanging out with Halo Jones

"Now, Halo Jones, she's a neuromancer,
She looks like a dream, and she moves like a panther"

I always thought she was a New Romancer, but the lyrics sheet says otherwise.

Any thoughts? I don't think it necessary to be dead, as that's implyed in the "necro-" prefix of necromancy. What, exactly, does "-mancy" mean?

*gives MarkIX a verilonitis shot*

odomancy is the reading of palms

the dictionary.com tell me its "Divination" but I also took it to mean "the magical art of/related too".

So Neuromancy is communicating with the mind.
Like telepathy?

I guess it would be.

Neuromancer comes from a william gibson novel, where a medical corperation AI gave it's owners immortality by copying and writting their memories onto sucessive clones. The owner of the coporation used it to get away with the serial incest/rape & then murder of his own daugther thousands of times. really sick....

I think it means literally 'mindmagic'.
