Washington vs. Atlanta:
The Redskins tanked against the Jets at home for the NFL kickoff against an Atlanta team that proved it was not just the Michael Vick show. I'll take the Falcons here but look for Spurrier to go for the big plays and make it a game.
Detroit at Green Bay:
I'll be pulling for the Lions because I utterly despise the Pakcers, aside from the fact that Green Bay will do anything to avoid being embarassed for a second week at home, The Packer's Offense is too strong for a Lions Defense that gave up a fair amount of points to The Cardinals. Packers will win but it will not be a complete rout if harrington throws the ball and hooks up with Charlie Rogers.
Tennesee at Indianapolis:
If the game comes down to field goals then I would have to pick the Colts. Despite the Titans picking up Gary Anderson, Anderson was well below par for the Dolphins last year. Also Steve McNair and Frank Wycheck are hurt, I think McNair will play but Wycheck will probably sit out which takes away one of the Titans best offensive weapons, and taking one of the best tight ends ever off the field. I'll take the Titans since the Colts only scored 9 points against Cleveland.
Pittsburgh at Kansas City:
Looks Like a slugfest, with neither side having a clear advantage I can pick out. When push comes to shove go with the Home team, Chiefs with a single digit win.
San Francsico at St. Louis
Niners Offense and Defense were nearly invulnerable against the Bears in Week One, while the Rams QB controversey picks up where it left off in 2002. The Rams defense failed on multiple occaisions, the Rams offense is a pale shadow of the team that went to the Super Bowl 4 years ago. Look for the Niners to rout.
WITHOUT BIAS-
Bulger is a good Quarterback and should keep it within reason and the Rams are a much better opponent than the Bears.
Houston at New Orleans:
Can the Upset bug bite again? If so then New Orleans seems a likely candidate after their subpar performance last week. Why not? Aaron Brooks is why not, the Saints are going to hit the Houston defense hard and fast for a double digit win.
Miami at New York Jets:
The Jets will win, Miami didn't just play poorly against houston but they exposed weaknesses that NY will look to exploit. Vinny Testaverde is a good replacement for Chad Pennington and can throw the ball accurately all over the field.
Buffalo at Jacksonville:
Buffalo's defense was simply outstanding against The Patriots, and Jacksonville will need to improve from their Week 1 form in order to stand a chance. I don't think they will, Bills by two touchdowns.
Cleveland at Baltimore:
Cleveland has a better Offense, Baltimore has a better defense, so the game hinges on which one will break first. Cleveland proved it has the power to score points with Holcomb at QB despite last weeks loss and I think the Browns will win this one in a close game.
Seattle at Arizona:
The key to this game is the outstanding ability of Shaun Alexander. The guy is crazy good at running the ball and even catching the short pass, The Cardinals have good ol #22 in the backfield but he can only do so much on his own, especially against a Seattle Defense that treated the Saints like a castrated manservant. Seattle wins.
Carolina at Tampa Bay:
The Champs looked good in their opener, I mean real good. To be honest I dont expect the Panthers to score at all and if they do it wont be more than six or seven. Tampa scored 17 but 12 of that were on two utterly brilliant (and insane) catches by Joe Jere-"VICIOUS" but they should do better against Carolina. Tampa by 20 at the minimum.
Denver at San Diego
To be frank Denver is simply better at every position and the Chargers only hope lies in getting good field position with Tim Dwight's kick returns. Denver by double digits.
New England at Philadelphia
A very very pissed off Philadelphia team will take it out on the Patriots this sunday at "The Link". The Patriots, who were utterly stymied by the bills, will find themselves unable to stop Donovan Mcnabb and No pass will be safe from Philly's safeties and cornerbacks. Philly gets back to .500
Cincinnati at Oakland
Despite losing to the Titans in the opener the Raiders should have no trouble with the still hapless Bengals. If the Raiders do lose then well...nah lets just not even think about it.
Chicago at Minnesota:
The bears showed last week that their defense is s bad as all of those damn commercials Brian Urlacher has been appearing in. If week 1 isn't a fluke then this game will make the Bears look like the Cubs of days past. Vikings to win.
Dallas at ny Giants:
The Cowboys suck, you cant put Parcells on the sideline but he cant go on the field and play postitions for this crappy team, the Giants are like a shark that smells blood in the water and it will be one heckuva bloodbath.

Re: NFL Week #2 picks
Hey, that's a happy thought. I can just picture Brian Dawkins anihilating a wide reciever for the crime of attempting to catch a pass.....oh, wait, he's out for six weeks with a broken foot.Darth Fanboy wrote:New England at Philadelphia

Well, that's ok. Hugh Douglas will turn Tom Brady into a quarterback shaped hole in the turf.
Oh no, wait, the Eagles let him sign with Jacksonville.
Hmm, well Shawn Barber will make the running back regret he took up professional football, instead of something safer like bear-baiting.
Except he wasn't re-signed either.
Well, at least Brian Mitchell will make their special teams coach cry as he runs over Adam Viniteri on his way to the end zone on a kickoff runback...except he playes for the God damn Giants now.
But at least we've got a new stadium! Yeah! Woohoo! Two hundred and fifty million taxpayer dollars, and they raise the fucking ticket prices anyway. They remember to take the Goddamn architects on a tour of Paris to get ideas, but they don't remember to install fucking water fountains.
To Jeff Lurie and Joe Banner: I've got an idea, you smarmy fucks: take some of that money under the cap you're always singing about, and actually sign the players you need to win the fucking Super Bowl. How about that? Then you'll have a right to act like you're the smartest sons of bitches to ever run an NFL team, instead of two blowhards who haven't won shit. Nobody gives a flying fuck how much fucking money you've got under the fucking cap, alright? I'll take a championship and a fire sale and ten years of sucking over five years of getting agonizingly close only to watch someone else get a fucking parade, followed by ten years of sucking anyway.
Christ knows, we've sucked enough for so long we're used to it. At least it was bearable when we knew we didn't have a chance.
Jesus F. Christ, why do I even bother caring?
Rant over.

Now Im glad Duce Staley stuck with the team for the sake of your meotional health,
Though im not sure its a good idea to let another Philadelphia team make it to a championship game though. betwee the Phillies, 76ers, and Flyers I think youve managed to squander every chance you had since 1975 haven't you?

The Phillies won in 1980, the Sixers in 1983, and Villanova men's basketball won the national championship in 1985. And that's it.Darth Fanboy wrote:Now Im glad Duce Staley stuck with the team for the sake of your meotional health,

Philly has some serious injuries on the defense squad. Brian Dawkins, Bobby Taylor and Brandon Whiting are all out this week. You cant just take a couple of pro-bowl guys out of your secondary and expect it to get the job done, thats what the pats learned last week.

Except of course the year before Dan "The Man" Snyder took over. The year we got two games deep in the playoffs and would have made the NFC Championship game were it not for a bungled long snap.MKSheppard wrote:Bah, that is nothing compared to the Caps.
