My father is a retired Green Beret and in my 21 years of life I've never seen that shed a single tear. Today I saw him break down and cry.
My mother is a grade school teacher who's always done her best for us. I've never heard anything that sounded as anguished as she did today.
My brother was the single most infuriating person i've ever known. He was constantly irritating me, playing his damn rap music too loud for me to sleep, using my computer without permission and otherwise making a general nuisance of himself... and now he's gone.
Late last night his car burned up in a parking lot.. the police found a body inside and the splint from my brother's recently broken finger.
I'd give just about anything to hear him come in singing the lyrics to one of the myriad rap songs he was always bugging us all with. Christ I don't know what to do.. I'm trying to help support mom, keep her from blaming herself.. I just.. I just don't know how to deal with this kind of thing.

You and your parents have my deepest condolences.
I just don't know how to deal with this kind of thing.
Cry, cry with your Mum and Dad. He was your brother, and you loved him very much.

In times like these there is nothing you really can say that doesn;t sound empty or not very helpful. Your presence however is what your mom is going to need most of all. Just knowing you're there will be a comfort and don't ignore you father either, just because he was a Green Beret doesn't mean that he's not a human being that needs his son now more than ever.
I'm truly sorry for your loss.

My deepest condolances. If you ever need to vent, we're here to listen. This is going to be one of the most stressful times of your entire life, and you will need somewhere to go to let the emotions out.

I was going to try to find some words that can somehow let you know that you've got all the love we can collectively send focused on your family. I can't so I'll just say have faith that the love you have for your brother will heal the wound of his loss and in the meantime know that you have our sympathy.

You've got my deepest, deepest sympathies. I don't know how I'd react if a member of my family were to die.
Was there any reasons for the fire? I can't imagine him just staying inside while it burned. Was it an accident?
