I've been getting it too. All off a sudden i keep getting kicked out. And then i get that white screen about an SQL error.

In case you were unaware, this forum exists as entries in a database (most likely a MySQL db). If something happens to that DB, like, say, an alteration in table names, etc. phpBB will not be able to access the stuff it is supposed to.

The reason is that this board gets a lot of traffic, and as more people access the board, the more connections to the MySQL server are created, until the database gets so overloaded that it dies.


I've been toying with a few techniques to eliminate these problems.

Well I just upgraded MySQL let hope a lot of the problems are fixed by this upgrade.

happens to another forum i visit on a regular basis... of course, the guys who run the site haven't a clue about mysql or php code, so they can't fix it

You havent been here long have you?

This forum has already broke down a few time, and moved servers a few times too. Also hops on & off Mike Wong's personal server when Lord MJ's server starts seriously crapping up.
