Or, by a cruel coincidence, there happens to be more than one Timothy Jones out there? For example, if I had wanted to go to Cambridge, then life could have gotten very confusing for me and a certain Proffessor/Master Librarian chappie...

Stand down.. The names 'Timothy' and 'Jones' are deceptively common(Note a Doctor Timothy Jones cited during the Anthrax Scares). We should be welcoming this poor newbie. Imagine the pain and suffering that will come when they realize their name is shared with one of the Megatrolls.

Of course, it could be someone being a dick and making a sock puppet. In which case the Black Mages will be dealing with them.

I'll say it's a sock puppet. "Timothy" and "Jones" may be common names, but the chances that someone with that name coming here and using his full name as a username are just too great for me to believe.

It's either someone's real name and they're unaware of the Timothy Jones we know, or someone's BSing, like the RayCav account Shep made as an April Fool's prank.

Yeah, but I felt a definate tremor in the Force this morning. Somebody said he had a "gadfly@" email account. That has Mr. Jones written all over it. It could be an imposter. Have to see what happens when he posts.

I have no doubt the board can deal with him. I'm just incredulous he'd step back into the fray again. Guess he's hoping to get a rise out of a new generation.

1) It's not so much that we would be incapable of dealing with it persay, as much as it is that things have been quiet for a while and we need some fun

2) There is a degree to how we can "handle" things... I beleive you were here when Bobby was, remember the double digit threads that accomplished nothing? Plus a much different board makeup now; back then this place was largely seasoned debators from ASVS who had fought the trolls of legend or those from SB who did battle with the Trek Trio and the Fiver hordes. Now the bulk of the population is a younger crew who hasn't really seen any action without ICS or some of the older ones who have become dependent on it, and thus they don't know how to do without it and still win. Threads will last much longer this time around if it is the real deal.

I say you're all letting a weird sort of nostalgia cloud your recollection. Sure Timmy was bad, but can we really say he was quantifiably worse than Darkstar? And yet Darkstar was well and truly trounced by the likes of Lord Wong and Master of Ossus, though he'll naturally never admit defeat.
