HoS this thread if you like. But I keep hearing ASVS, and, being a relative noob, I have no idea what it means...SDNers seems to like them, though...and they seem okay in my book...from what I can gather ( i may be WAY offbase), they were members of another board...which...perhaps, shut down? I don't know...

alt.startrek.vs.starwars, the newsgroup that is sort of like the predecessor of this site. Many board members are oldtime ASVSers.

It's a newsgroup, so if you have a newsreader... er.. just do what ever you do to add groups to your reader. I personally use Google Groups, though it takes 3-9 hours for posts to be loaded.

Some say SD.Net is ASVS Jr. I think those people need have been living in a cave, on Mars, with their eyes closed and their fingers in their ears, yelling over the eventual demise of newsgroups and the already rampant troll infestation at ASVS. But that's just me.

Really, more people came over from Spacebattles than ASVS. SD.net can more accurately described as Spacebattles Cooler, More Badass Younger Brother than ASVS' Part Deux.
