Hyper-extend a knee?
I did today while I was tearing down a house and had to walk a klick and half back to my home and I'm in a lot of fucking pain.
This sucks

Eh, I've got bad knees, so I get it quite frequently. Not a fun thing to experience, expecially when you've got bad ankles an hips that continuously go out of alignment.

That would be fun..
You see, koji, some of us have hereditary problems that just don't go away.. I mean, my grandmother asked me how I was, and I said, "I'm doing ok, except for my back" and she says, "Oh, I hear that one." How do you think that feels.. it kinda hurts.. And when you've got joints that hyperextend.. it's not a fun thing.

Yeah, I clipped my knees a couple of times back in high school when I was on the ski team. I was skiing down a GS slope when I hit a gate right on the knee going full blast and wiped out. Not a pretty sight, I assure you.
Hope you feel better guys; "God" only gives us a single set of knees, so take good care of them.

I can't believe Mr. Grab-the-railgun-and-fire-like-a-nutcase-at-the-drop-of-a-hat is suddenly advocating PEACEFULNESS!

Oh pshaw. They're men (well.. maybe). They should be able to handle the pain like real men.

Have YOU ever hyperextended your knee?

I've never hyperextended, but I did screw up my left knee. Instead of flexing back and forth, I bent it inward, so my thigh and calf were at about a 30 degree angle to each other. A friend I was working with at the time could hear the pop 20 yards away. Happened almost 5 years ago and it's not healed properly. Still hurts every so often.

I've done lots more then that. Lots more. Never felt the need to go and complain to people that werent responsible for drugging me up with the proper pain killers.

Okay, get back to me when you'r in constant joint and muscle pain pretty much every day of the week.
And I've done more, too.. I've hyperextended most joints that shouldn't hyperextend, as well as the fact that I can semi-dislocate half of those joints.. Don't get me started right now.

I'm not saying you should scream in agony, but this is a bit much. I mean, posting in a forum about something that supposedly is horribly agonizing .. it can't be THAT painful if you're bothering to tell US.

Koj, you are an insensitive.....cat, and I blow my nose at you.
Knee pain is the worst thing on earth. IMHO, humans are poorly designed anyway. Two legged mobility is a pathetic way to move. A few months ago, I pulled a stupid and partially tore my ACL, and it was easily the most painful experience of my life (and I was drunk when it happened) the next day, I couldn't move it, and movement at all in fact ellicited literal SCREAMS of agony.
While your hyperextended knee is not quite so severe, You certainly have my sympathy.
And Koj, maybe he just enjoys talking to us, you know? I don't talk to alot of people, nor do I have alot of friends (by choice, I'm a MASSIVE asshole.) If something happened to me, I'd probably post it here, too. (See my "Asshat in an accord" thread) Hell, you coulda kept your miniseries idea to yourself, but you posted it, I read it, I liked your idea, and suggested you develop it! Another thought: Perhaps he thought we could give him some input on how to manage the pain outside of the obvious "Put ice on it, take motrin" Remedy.
By the way, Lt., Put ice on it, take motrin
![Wink ](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
. NSAIDS like ibuprofen are awesome, but it is important that you take one or two every day, as it takes some time for the anti-inflammatory effect to...take......umm...effect.

Well I have a knee brace on and it seems to be helping a bit not as painful as yesterday in a day or two I should be ok, thanks for your advice.

Mine naturally hyper-extend, however, both are blown as it is, just doesn't hurt when it happens.

Mine do that, too, but sometimes they go a little bit further than that, and that's when it gets kind of painful.

Dislocated my knee before, and I would have gladly taken having hyper extending it over that. My knee was on the right side of my leg

Yup, I was on my high school wrestling team when something went wrong on a takedown and my knee got bent the wrong way. Nothing got broken but I couldn't walk for the rest of the day, I could sort of shuffle around after taking a bunch of painkillers but it was not fun. Hurt like a bastard and it didn't heal up completely for weeks, but that's partly because I never rested it properly and kept abusing my body.
